Out of the packeage this comes with the batteries needed to work, durecell, and screws. Its an easy two screw install: two screws mount the back plate to the wall, and the monitor slides down on the plate to mount. Aesthetically: it looks like a thermostat, about the same size too. I put this in the middle of the wall towards the end in the middle of the room, and I dont even notice it. I have to tell you, compared to the rest, this looks the best. I bought a different brand and it looks like a huge box... Unlike this! There are about several different alarms to tell you whats going on with the unit.
