It is a waste of money. Everything triggers this alarm but Natural gas. Me and my family, we could have died when the kids accidentally turn the oven switch.The gas smell filled the house and this unit never alarmed. It is far too sensitive to some fumes (e.g. a splash of wine in a pot of spaghetti sauce, deglazing a pan, or opening a bottle of spirits within six feet of the alarm). For these it goes off instantly. I figured I could live with this if it worked as well on natural gas, but when I finally got around to trying it with an unlit gas burner the fumes got too strong for me before the alarm ever sounded.
