Offering a small, sleek design that's suitable for all living areas, the Nighthawk KN-COPP-B-LS provides you and your family with a loud warning signal against the dangers of elevated carbon monoxide levels. You'll get continuous monitoring of CO levels, even during power outages when AC-only units are not providing protection. The digital display adds an advanced level of protection, showing CO levels in PPM (parts per million) and allowing you to see if levels change. The backlighting helps you read the display in the dark, and it also appears during the peak level cycle. The unit also has a peak level memory, which displays the highest CO concentration measured since the last reset.
It features two color LEDs for at-a-glance status updates. The green LED flashes once every 30 seconds to indicate the alarm is working properly. A red LED will pulse to indicate that carbon monoxide has been detected. When the unit detects carbon monoxide, the alarm sounds four short beeps (rated at 85 decibels at 10 feet), followed by five seconds of silence, and then followed by another set of four short beeps. The unit measures 3 inches by 5 inches by 1.5 inches.
The KN-COPP-B-LS includes multiple mounting options, allowing installation on a wall or a tabletop. It has a seven-year operating life (with matching seven-year limited warranty), providing 40 percent longer protection than other CO alarms. It's powered by 3 AA batteries (included).

Our neighbor is a fire fighter and recommended a unit with a digital display.This unit was out of the box and in use in about 5 minutes. All Kidde CO Alarms are UL Listed and other brands are not. Google "UL Listing" to find out more about this established testing lab. Some states mandate consumers have UL Listed smoke and CO Alarms. I typically hear about things other places, great recommendations and reviews on TV shpows, magazines etc. and then I check the price at Amazon. 98% of the time Amazon has a significantly better price plus lots more info and feedback that allows me to make an informed decision. East setup for this product, loud but not annoying alarm, digital readout that I just glance at to know we're A-OK. If you check the peak level on these devices, they will generate a random number from 15-29, even if you test them outdoors. I bought 6 of these, 3 for myself and 3 for my in-laws, and I regret it. I have now purchased 2 ProTech 8010 detectors to compensate. These are quality detectors made in Canada. Sadly, the need to replace these every 5-7 years has caused the manufacturer to rethink putting quality into a disposable device, and has instead made devices that are quite disposable in every aspect. |
